legend
Glad I found this video loved every second of watching it and of course my buddy Doug doing a wonderful job as always
Thank you for sharing that. Craig Virgin is a wonderful person. He is a true champion. I loved seeing this win. I love hearing him talk and sharing his running stories.
He's also in the Cardinals HOF
The olymp8cs wont be the sane wi5hout costas, tirico sucks
Go Cards!!
He was the first big-time bowler I followed as kid. Seemed like a real down to earth guy
Cardinals should have been far more competitive than they were in the 70s. The talk in St Louis was that they were a horribly coached team. I believe this to be the truth.
Watching the game of the week with my father with Pee Wee and Diz is one of my fondest memories. Even as a little kid, I laughed at Diz announcing: " and the runners returned to their respectable bases". They made it fun to watch.
SHOULD BE IN,,
Roger Werhli, the original shutdown cornerback.
“Ya seen it on your screens, fans” remember it well.
every Saturday my dad and I would watch the "game of the week" where Dizzy and Pee Wee would commentate. This was in the late 50's. I believe it was referred to as "the Falstaff Game of the week". I'll never forget the first time I heard Dizzy say "he slud into home" I had to have my dad explain that one to me.....thanks for all the great moments Diz and you too Pee Wee
I must be missing something. The caption above says this is 2010. Dean died in '74, two weeks after autographing a ⚾ for mevand my best friend at a minor league ballpark in Charjeston SC. He was traveling around doing color comnentary st minor league parks and selling Purina Dig Chow during the commercials. He died two weeks later in Reno. I was very sad. I have no family and sold the ball a couple yrs ago to a very appreciative guy for $1,150. Time moves on.
The man is the epicenter of bowling. Such a smooth and gentle style. I tried my entire life to bowl as smoothly as DW and could never master the consistency. He makes it look easy. And it certainly is not. Such a class act.
Conrad, why did you bite that lineman’s finger? Conrad; because he put it in my mouth.
The BEST head coach in the NFL....PERIOD !
Tough, loved, and we'll respected by me
so cool to see!
Not too many people liked Rogers Hornsby.
Congratulations, Frank!
Conrad Dobler RIP 1950-2023
As a kid in the '70's watching the New York Islanders go from being horrible to winning Stanley Cups, the memory of Dan Kelly calling those Stanley Cup games is as vivid as anything the Islanders achieved on the ice. Kelly's announcing was second to none.
She didnt poop, huh?
Dave, Tom and I want you to know that you will always have a place in our hearts.
Saw him playing for Dundee Rockets in the Heineken League in the UK, he was. a fantastic player.
just dominate
Lol st louis' favorite Italian from New York That made me lol
Dewayne Staats the iconic Rays announcer one of a kind im telling you. You keep it going Dewayne and im a Dodgers fan
The one thing that Don Coryell really needed throughout his career: a good defensive coordinator.
Otis got the ball more because you fumbled all the time. That being said I loved to watch you play.
MIKE CROMBEEN!
Leon had Ali realing at the end of the fight. I watched this, and scored it. I remember it being a close fight, but Leon clearly took it. I'm really surprised he didn't get screwed on a decision. You'd figure Ali would have won had he just finished the fight standing. The right man won here. 👍
Go Ivory ❤
At 0:17 there's pitcher José Rafael Santiago, who at age 83 is still active as a radio broadcaster for the winter ball league games in our Puerto Rico 🇵🇷. Thanks for the 1-derful tribute video, Hall Of Famer Lou Brock was a great player !!! ⚾
“Thank you for making this night necessary.”
Im jealous of all you people who got to listen and see and hear every night, every game, evey anything of Dan Kelly. i grew up with Ken Wilson and dont gwt me wrong, ken is part of my soundtrack of sports growing up. Ken is great, but not dan kelly
Aaron, you hit the nail on the head. I’m now 70 and have been a Blues fan since 1968. Ken Wilson was very very good, but Dan Kelly was the absolute best. As a teenager when the Blues were outmatched by Montreal and Boston, I would literally start to clench in fear as Kelly’s voice raised and he say things like, “Lafleur CLOSING INNNN…,” because you knew right after that it would be the bad news, “He scores!” Dan Kelly had the perfect voice, the perfect pitch & cadence, and the perfect amount of volume which foreshadowed a dangerous shot on goal, whether it was for us or the opposition! He made the games come absolutely alive on my transistor radio!
Pretty good back up winger
Great team player
Great
Who is that at 3:15?
I heard Dizzy do ball games ,He was great!
I remember my first contact (maybe at age 9) with anything associated with Ken Holtzman, I think it was what we call now an action figure (contrary to a doll 😂), then a couple of years later I started following MLB Baseball in 1970/71 and was surprised to learn Holtzman was a real person and a very good pitcher. Needless to say I watched him in those A's uniforms in the World Series (via satellite since I live in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷) God bless Mr Holtzman !!!
Interesting video. I of course knew Dizzy Dean (and Pee Wee Reese) being announcers on National baseball broadcasts, but not about Blattner. Thanks for this info. I noticed Clyde Lovellette in the Hawks team pictures. He was a well-known player who I have read about, although he wasn't mentioned in the audio on here.
The GOAT!
Me too
Man, I miss all the time I was privileged to spend in Missouri when I was young... Texas is my home, but there's something special about the Midwest
Had jim hart played for the cowboys, packers or steelers you can bet hed be a hall of famer by now. Its a crime jim hart isnt a hall of famer
My Dad passed away from colon cancer a couple of years ago. He became a good speaker over the years and really enjoyed talking about Diz and his father, Paul Daffy Dean, which was my Grandfather.
Dizzy and Paul once pitched a doubleheader. Dizzy threw a two-hitter in the first game. Paul threw a no hitter in the second game. Afterwards, Dizzy said, If I would have known Paul was going to pitch a no hitter, I would have pitched one, too.”
I think he said, “if I’d a knowed Paul was gonna thow a no-hitter, I’d a thowed one, too.”
